Our future constitutional lawyer, Sophia, and her mentor Ellen were out and about recently at the Pennsylvania Innocence Project annual celebration. Ellen invited Sophia to the event as her special guest. Sophia was able to meet the keynote speaker, Dr. Yusef Salaam, one of the Exonerated 5 (Central Park 5). Sophia was able to spend some time talking with Dr. Salaam and ask some questions for projects she is current’y working on. She was also able to spend time talking with Lisa Middleman (candidate for Allegheny County D.A.) and several other exonerated individuals from Western PA. It was a powerful and inspirational evening enjoyed by all.
