Steven gets a visit from his favorite clown

With balloon animals and magic tricks galore, Steven and James had yet another smile-filled visit during Steven’s appointment at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
James helped bring brightness and joy to a day that Steven does not necessarily normally look forward to. James showed Steven a few of his gag tricks and even gave him a lesson on how to make his very own balloon animal!

When Steven was given a choice of who could help him with his medicine, he chose his new friend, James (who was experienced, having two daughters of his own). And James was all too happy to help. Steven even went so far as to say James is is new favorite clown — even more than Penny Wise from the IT movies (which Steven adores). â€‹

The pandemic showed many people what social isolation is really like. It also showed there are many other great ways to connect. That’s why we launched our activity kits. These mailed out packages provide fun activities for our mentors and kids/young adults to do together — virtually.
